Singapore- Little Egret ( Egretta garzetta)

Little egrets ( Egretta garzetta) can be found in the wetlands of warm temperate to tropical regions. They are characterized by having black legs, black bills and yellow feet.
Issued in October 2014 as part of the  5v set on Tourism.Cancelled at Sengkang Central Post office.

Australia -Little penguin (Eudyptula minor)

Little penguins live along the southern shores of  mainland Australia as well as New Zealand, Tasmania and Chatham Islands. They featured in the recent Australian stamp series of Road Trips where you can see a family driving to Phillip Island in Victoria, where they can easily see the penguins which  come ashore each evening to roost in the tussocks on the sand dunes.

Australia-Little Penguin (Albury)

Albury is on the grand Hume Weir which reportedly holds more than six time the amount of water as Sydney Harbour. The pictorial postmark shows the wall at the weir, unfortunately its not very clear but you get the idea. Cancelling another of the popular Little Penguin stamps from the recent Road trip series.

Australia- Spotted Catbird

Blocks of used stamps are always sought after and today I received a cover with 10 spotted catbirds. Although the stamps were issued in 1980, I think they are still valid for postage :) A current stamp with Little penguins was added to make up  the correct postage. Thank you to my new stamp friend for this very creative cover.

Australia- Kakadu Birds

Stamp collectors never finish their sorting and arranging and writing up their collections. Rewards  can come  from  sorting out packets and here is todays' surprise. Great clear postmark from Tasmania, in fact the first Tasmanian postmark to get on the map http://g.co/maps/tpjra . Australia is a very large continent, Kakadu is in the very far north compared to Tassie which is as far south as you can go

Australia- Little Penguin

The latest in bird stamps from Australia, the famous Little penguins of Phillip Island. They are of course in more places than Phillip Island but this is a popular place where the small feathered penguins can be observed at close range.

The Little Penguin (Eudyptula minor) also known as fairy Penguin  is  the smallest species of penguin growing to an average of  33 cm (13 in) tall and 43 cm (17 in) tall.  Found on the coastlines of southern Australia and New Zealand .
